Sometimes I need a bit of shock/schlock to clean out all the history bits clining in my head. Then I can get back to "traditional" embroidery with a keen sense of why I am such a stick-in-the-mud.

Friendship bracelets are still popular it seems. Here is a good set of instructions to make several different patterns. In the alternative these braids make great lanyards for ID cards, luggage tags, etc.

They have a fair amount of commercialism but it can be waded through. Current projects feature St. Patrick's day amongst other things.

The crafts pages at Kids Domain may meet some basic needs for crafting projects but their instructions are a bit lame so far as I can see and the number of ads one has to endure to reach content pages is about at the verge of my intolerance level.

There seems to be a bit of discord in the media betwixt two different weather predicting hedgehogs, but I'll bet many of us in the Northern Hemisphere will continue to have some snowy days.

Or even if there is no snow in your present or future - here's a nice snowman to print out, cut up and assemble.

February Events

Crayola has always been one of my favorite sites to visit and they have projects and lesson plans for three February Events -- Black History Month;Mexican Constitution Day and Valentine's Day.

They are a great resource for all things colorful and I love the ability to order a custom box of crayons for a budding artist who is definitely in a "blue period" and ignores all the other colors.

I enjoy teaching needlework to young people and have from time to time done a list of links to websites for arts and crafts sites useful to entertain and teach kids on those rainy days or school holidays.

It seems that I keep running across great resources out there on the web and so I decided this subject deserved a blog of its own.

Now, don't expect daily blogging here but do come around once in awhile to see if I've turned up anything new and interesting.
